Retreat Details
We will be traveling to Pine Acres Retreat on Lake Allatoona, leaving on Friday, June 27 at approximately 4:30 pm and returning around 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 28. We will be staying at Beachcomber Campground, inside the Pine Acres Retreat at 3963 Bartow Carver Road, Acworth, GA 30102. The campground includes a large in-ground pool and hiking trails. We’ll also be playing lawn games like volleyball and cornhole.
Food
The church will provide dinner Friday and breakfast and lunch on Saturday.
Transportation
All youth will ride in the youth leader vehicles or the church van.
Cost = Free
The church will provide tents, transportation, and meals each day. There is not much to spend money on, so spending money is of limited use. There may be a vending machine at the pool, so if you want to give them a little spending money in small bills or change, that’s fine but that’s about it.
Leave/Return
- Friday, 6/27: Arrive at church by 4:15 pm—place bags in vehicles.
- Saturday, 6/28: We plan to return by 5 pm.
Packing List
- Shoes suitable for an easy hiking trail.
- Sleeping bag/air mattress/blanket & pillow (no electricity, so pumps must be battery operated/manual). If air mattress is larger than twin, your child must plan to share with someone else in same tent. There will be 1 girl tent and 1 boy’s tent.
- Swimsuit & towell
- Bible
- Bug spray and waterproof sunscreen
- Battery-operated fan (if desired)
- Slip-on type shoes for the pool area
